Yatton will lose one of its bus services in April due to funding cuts.

Carmel Coaches runs the 88A and 88C which serves Yatton, as well as Nailsea, Portishead and Clevedon.

But the service will be replaced with a single 88 bus which will run every two hours – but will not serve Yatton.

A Carmel Coaches spokesman said: “Funding is being reduced but not completely removed.

“We are aware some passengers will be inconvenienced by these changes but unfortunately there is little we can do.”

Carmel Coaches has run the service for the past three years and will take on the revised route
once the new contract starts in April.

A North Somerset Council spokesman added: “We tendered with a slightly different route and Carmel Coaches has got the contract again.

“It won’t be going to Yatton as First runs a service in Yatton.”
