A Weston volunteer has been shortlisted for an award in recognition of her work with a sight charity.
Carol Lincoln has run the Macular Society’s branch in Weston for 12 years.
She joined the group after being diagnosed with macular degeneration and has helped people in a similar position.
The society holds annual awards for excellence, and Carol has been nominated in the chairman’s award for volunteering category, as she was in 2013.
Carol said: “I’m really delighted and honoured to have been nominated.
“I love running the group; the nicest thing about it is the way all of the members are there for one another. We are a very close group.
“Lots of the members have been coming for many years and we really support each other.”
The winners will be announced in September.
The Weston group meets from 2-4pm on the second Tuesday of each month at the Lauriston Hotel.
