A DANCE school in Weston town centre is celebrating 50 years of turning two left feet into twinkle toes.

The Ted Burroughs School Of Dance opened in Milton Road in May 1964, and after proving to be hugely popular soon expanded to a premises in the Boulevard.

Many of the couples trained there have won British titles.

Ted married Sue in 1981, and together they notched up more than 90 prize-winning dances and gained the prestigious Carl-Alan award for most successful sequence professionals.

The school moved to its current premises in Baker Street in 1984, and when Ted died in 2004

his wife continued to run the operation.

She was joined by her current business partner Andrew Davies, a championship dancer in his own right, in 2010.

Together, they teach a range of dance and fitness to a number of age groups in the now-called

Burrough Dance Centre.
