DAME Helen Mirren, Joanna Lumley and Dame Judi Dench have puckered up for a Weston woman’s bid to raise money for charity.

Stephanie Macintosh wrote to nearly 250 celebrities asking for their lipstick prints and a signature for an auction in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Diver Tom Daley, and actresses Victoria Wood, Julie Goodyear and Liz Dawn all sent their lip prints to Stephanie to be auctioned.

Stephanie, who lives in Weston and works as a Boots manager in Yate, said: “I wanted to do something different to help raise money for Macmillan and support our partnership with them.

“We’d taken part in a similar event in store and as tissues are light to post, I thought why not see what I can do?

“It’s a great cause and with all the things that Boots UK does in partnership with Macmillan, I wanted to do something special and help too.”

Stephanie, aged 26, tailored every one of her letters to the individual celebrity, and inserted a tissue for the lipstick print along with a return envelope.

Dame Helen Mirren, who won an Oscar for the 2006 film The Queen, was the first to reply.

Stephanie said: “No-one got back to me for a couple of months but when the letter turned up at work I knew what it was because I recognised the envelope.

“I got the whole team around me while I opened it.

“Then the rest came in over the course of the next year.”

TV cook Nigella Lawson, actress Kate Winslet and former Countdown co-host Carol Vorderman all sent signed photos for the auction, which is being held on eBay and in the Boots store.

So far, Stephanie has raised £347, with more signed kisses left to sell.

Rachel Astall, partnership manager at Macmillan, said: “We’re delighted that Stephanie has taken on this unusual task of asking celebrities for kisses to help raise vital funds for people affected by cancer.

“I’d like to say a massive thank you to Stephanie and everyone a Boots for their continued support.”
