TWO vital charities will be the beneficiaries of this year’s Weston Lions Real Ale Festival and race night.

The fourth annual festival will be held on August 12-14 and Weston Hospicecare and the RNLI have been chosen as the charities to benefit from the 2011 shindig, after Help for Heroes were the main beneficiaries last year, receiving £10,000.

As well as the three day-long festival taking place in the society’s marquee opposite the Grand Athletic Hotel on Beach Lawns, a dinner and race night will be held on August 11 aimed at raising funds for the two organisations.

As well as a range of more than 60 beers and ales to sample, there will be six races on screen to follow and a three course buffet dinner to sample, with tickets costing £25 per person.

During the weekend, festival goers will also have a chance to sample various local culinary delights at a food festival next to the Lions marquee.
