A BLEADON-BASED firm has celebrated its fifth birthday by using its expertise to offer a free helping hand to a trio of charities.

PR agency Plum Communications, based in Purn Way, will be supporting Worle’s In-2-Biking, which runs cycling sessions for people with disabilities, the non-profit Lympsham Preschool, and East Huntspill-based wildlife rescue charity Secret World.

The three causes were chosen through a vote by Plum staff.

Managing director Karen Morledge said: “From humble beginnings operating from a home office, Plum’s turnover has consistently grown as its customer base has diversified and spanned throughout Somerset and the South West.

“We’re now at a point where staff are being promoted through the management structure, we’ll be bringing on new team members and looking to grow even further.

“Supporting charities has always been part of our ethos and we wanted to celebrate our success over the last five years by donating our time and support to a number of very different, but worthy, local charities.”
