Concert to be held at Electric Banana after former Weston College student suffers heart attack

A fundraising concert will be held at a Weston club tonight (Thursday) in support of a former Weston College student.

The Electric Banana in Oxford Place will stage performances to raise money for Lawrence Ford, a former music student who suffered a life-changing heart attack and stroke in September.

Despite undergoing open heart surgery Lawrence, known as Lol, has lost 50 per cent of movement in one of his hands meaning his income as a session musician has ceased.

Event organiser Oz Cahill said: “He’s such a well-known person and when it happened we wanted to do something.

“He’s a real quality musician but it was the guitar which was his absolute passion.”

Acts performing on the night will include The Blue Horizon, Cliff Moore & Friends and Out Of Gravity.

Tickets, priced £5, are available on the door and include entry to The Loft.
