The event on Saturday saw people from around the Somerset village submit their best flowers, vegetables, cakes and art works for judging.

The village hall, in Church Street, opened to the public and was soon filled with conversation and laughter as people viewed the winning submissions.

Show committee member Anne Langford said: “The show was a resounding success again with a wonderful display of flowers, fruits and vegetables in the village hall.

“It was quite remarkable given the poor weather over the past month.

“There was an increase of entries in art and crafts and the children’s entries were also up on last year.

“The cakes and preserves section was hotly contested and presented a tempting display. The overall standard of entries was high.

“We would like to thank Hanson’s In The Community and Cheddar Chamber Of Commerce for their generous sponsorship and many traders who donated prizes.”
