Local organisations could earn £500 to put towards their projects to change their community.

Cheddar Parish Council is encouraging charities, churches, schools and groups to apply for the council’s annual community grants.

The money will help support and encourage community initiatives and will help groups fund half the cost of projects which will benefit people in the Somerset village.

Projects can include ways to meet gaps in the local services, promoting community development, support for the village’s rural heritage, creating new opportunities for involvement or to create activities and schemes to reduce crime.

Applications must be sent to the council’s clerk no later that March 31.

For more information, contact the clerk on 01934 743217, email clerk@cheddarparishcouncil.org or alternatively visit www.cheddarparishcouncil.org
