SHOOTING, catapulting and fishing were just some of the activities on offer at New Orchard Farm in Hewish on Sunday.

About 20 volunteers from Pass It On Sports, a not-for-profit organisation aimed at getting people involved in outdoor activities, battled the heavy rain to teach an array of different activities.

Rob Parsons, who runs Pass It On, said the event had been a big success despite having to battle the elements.

He said: “It’s good to get the kids away from their TVs to be active and get them learning something different.

“I think some of them look up to us because we’re ex-military and some are lacking a father figure to set some boundaries, which is what we provide in a fun and firm environment.”
