A host of festive events are lined up for Weston-super-Mare over the next few weeks. We’ve compiled a list of all top events to help you get into the Christmas spirit.

Lights switch-on

The cast of Aladdin and the mayor of Weston-super-Mare will be lighting up the town centre on November 30 as the festive lights are switched on.

The event is being held in the Italian Gardens from 5pm, with live music from Lipinski and Sarah Eden-Winn.

Family fun day

A family fun day will be held in Milton High Street on December 1 from 6-8pm.

The churches and shops have teamed up to put on the event, which will include carol singing, a Christmas story trail, games and late night shopping. Click here for more details.

Five Gold Rings and late night shopping

Readers can win £2,500 worth of jewellery to treat a loved one this Christmas, courtesy of the Mercury and Caboodle.

To enter the Five Gold Rings competition, readers need to visit one of the late night shopping events on Thursdays from November 30 and pick up a competition slip from the Mercury stand.

Peter Pan

Theatre-goers will be taken on a journey to Never Never Land in a performance of Peter Pan at the Blakehay Theatre.

Students from Weston College’s Wessex Academy of Performing Arts are putting on the lively pantomime from December 6-7 at the Wadham Street venue. To find out more, click here.

Christmas at Puxton Park

The cast of Weston’s pantomime will be turning on the Christmas lights at Puxton Park on December 2.

Father Christmas will be reading stories to children and families can also enjoy carol singing and hot cocoa from 3pm. Find out more here.

Christmas concert

The Lipinski brothers will be playing Christmas carols and songs at a concert in Loves Café on Christmas Eve.

Alex and Adam will be performing a host of festive hits from 1-6pm to get you in the Christmas spirit and all the money raised from the event will go to Comfort at Christmas. Tickets can be booked by following this link.

Meet Santa

Children can hand over their Christmas lists to Santa and have a chat Mrs Claus and the elves at Puxton Park.

Santa’s grotto will be open every weekend in December and from December 19-24. There will also be festive crafts and Christmas films on offer. For details, click here.

Supper with Santa

Treat your little ones to a Supper with Santa this Christmas at the Grand Pier on December 17.

Children can chat with Father Christmas over a meal before enjoying a disco and party games. To find out more, click here.

Icescape

Ice skating fans can enjoy some slippery fun at the Tropicana’s glittering attraction.

The UK’s largest ice rink also boasts a snow slide, an Igloo Bar made of ice and Santa’s grotto. Icescape is open until January 7, so get your skates on and book a session. For more details, click here.

Santa visit

Father Christmas and his friendly elves will be flying into the Helicopter Museum for a family fun day on December 10.

Children will be able to see the jolly visitor in his helicopter grotto and test out their pilot skills on the winter-themed flight simulator from 11am. Follow this link to find out more.

The popular market and food hall is returning to Shipham Village Hall on November 25 from 3-9pm.

Weston Museum will be transporting visitors back in time to enjoy a Victorian-themed celebration from December 16-17.

The festivities begin at 10am each day and visitors will be able to enjoy carols, mulled wine, crafts and a visit from Father Christmas. For details, click here.

Children can visit Santa in his magical grotto on the Grand Pier in Weston-super-Mare this Christmas.

Pantomime fun

Get your boos ready as panto season hits Weston-super-Mare.

Aladdin, starring John Altman from Eastenders, will be entertaining families with festive banter and fun at The Playhouse from December 9-31. To find out more, click here.

A magical pantomime adventure is being presented by Re:ACT at The Princess Theatre in Burnham-on-Sea.

Pantomime fans can book up for show from December 7-9 and enjoy the performance featuring a flying carpet, a magical genie and a villain to boo. Click here to find out more.

Festive night

Fireworks will be lighting up Cheddar as the village celebrates the start of the festive season on December 1.

Cheddar Festive Night will feature candelit tours of the cave, Christmas music, a hog roast and late night shopping from 6pm. For more details, click here.

Nutcracker Christmas Party

Thrillseekers can enjoy an hour of unlimited rides before tucking into a delicious three-course meal at the Grand Pier on December 2, 10 and 14.

Diners will be treated to aerial and acrobatic performances while they dine and the Ultimate Party Band will be enticing people onto the dance floor. For more details, click here.
