Men Get Cooking welcomed Milton Jones and Josie d'Arby for Comic Relief 2017.

A village community group will continue to help men hone their culinary skills in 2018 after it received backing from a charity fund.

The Men Get Cooking project, based at Churchill Methodist Church, has been renewed by the Comic Relief Community Fund.

The group, which launched in 2010, holds workshops at the Methodist church and in Winscombe, with men from across North Somerset taking part to enhance their kitchen know-how.

Group leader Jacquelene Seel said: “The key to success is having a good laugh in a small friendly group while building up essential cookery skills over the six-week course.

“Each week they have the satisfaction of eating dishes they’ve made to their personal taste.

“Many men share their meals at home or with friends, so their confidence is boosted by that feedback too.”
