A devoted granddaughter is taking part in a skydive to raise money for Weston Hospicecare which cared for her ‘heroic Pops’.

Claire Wilson’s grandfather Jim died of stomach cancer last year and his family want to say thank you to the hospice staff which helped them so much.

Jim Wilson shared his birthday with his granddaughter, so she is jumping out of a plane on the date to raise cash for the charity.

She said: “During his final days, Weston Hospicecare’s palliative team supported my Pops and the rest of the family and made him feel comfortable.

“This year in memory of my hero, on our birthday, I will be jumping from 10,000 feet to raise money for the team at Weston Hospicecare so they can carry on supporting families whose loved ones are struggling.”
