A NORTH Somerset football club is preparing to host a series of events to celebrate its 50th anniversary.

Cleeve West Town FC has been playing at the King George V fields in Meeting House Lane since 1965.

The club plans to mark the occasion by holding events throughout the summer, including a cider festival and a six-a-side football tournament.

Chairman Mark Williams said: “This is going to be a big year with several celebratory events planned during the season to mark our 50th anniversary here at Cleeve.

“We will kick it off in early September with an over-35s vets and legends game, for which I urge all former players reading this to get in touch – even if they only have 10 minutes left in their legs.

“We will follow this up during the season with a cider festival, a six-a-side tournament and evening gala event with speaker, plus more.”

For more information and opportunities contact Mark on 07785 710315.
