TWO friends have just turned entrepreneurs by opening their own beauty salon.

Samantha Boyce, aged 24 from Milton, Weston and Sophie Moment, aged 21 from Langford, Somerset opened Indigo studio, which is in Furland Road last Tuesday.

Samantha said this is something they have both aspired to do. She said: “It was a lot of hard work but worth it in the end.

“We managed to get the studio ready in about a month but we were working, with help from our family and friends, seven days a week, often until about 8pm.

“We both love the industry and we wanted to make sure that it was done right.

“We are quite fussy and so to do things our way we knew we had to set up our own studio.”

The beauticians, who have been friends for almost six years, completed their training in beauty at Weston college and will take re-fresher courses in new treatments and skin-care at least once a year.

Samantha said even in the present economic climate they have been surprisingly busy.

She said: “This is an industry which makes people happy, and people like to treat themselves.

“We are probably going to keep this as local business, as we would like to run it our own way, but you never know what will happen in the future.

“We will just continue to introduce the latest treatments and offer the best of what we can do.”
