Flu jabs will be available in Congresbury despite concerns

A village doctors’ surgery will provide flu jabs to patients after concerns were raised people would have to travel elsewhere for a vaccination.
Congresbury Surgery, which is part of the Mendip Vale Medical Practice, will offer vaccination appointments.
The surgery held drop-in sessions last year, but these have been scrapped due to logistical concerns.
Executive manager David Clark said: “We are keen for eligible patients to have their flu jab, so as well as the drop-in sessions patients can also book appointments.
“Last year due to the size of the building it was not effective having a drop-in session, so should a patient not want to go to another site they are welcome to book an appointment at Congresbury.
“A recent communication sent to patients did say that if they can’t attend on a Saturday to contact the surgery.”
