Villagers can share thoughts on a draft neighbourhood plan for Yatton.

The committee behind the document wishes to preserve Yatton’s independence, with emphasis on maintaining a strategic gap to Kingston Seymour.

The plan, which requires a village referendum before it can be adopted, also calls for green space to be protected off Moor Road which Persimmon Homes is interested in developing.

It suggests the former Titan Ladders site off Mendip Road would be suitable for housing. A planning application for 30 homes and nine flats is awaiting a decision from North Somerset Council.

The plan can be viewed online or in Yatton Library.

The council’s six-week consultation on the plan ends at noon on February 19.

Views can submitted via the its consultation website, emailed to planning.policy@n-somerset.gov.uk or posted to the planning policy team at Weston Town Hall.
