A new community hall could eventually be built in a rapidly-changing area of North Somerset, after it was agreed a housing developer would need to contribute towards a new facility.

Hundreds of homes are being built in Yatton’s North End and one of these schemes will see Hallam Land Management build 170 homes and a new five-junction roundabout off Arnolds Way.

Hallam and North Somerset Council have been negotiating what the developer needs to put towards community facilities and the council says it must contribute towards a provision for a new hall. The decision to request funds for the hall was made at the council’s planning committee meeting on February 8.
