A North Somerset parish council is calling for villagers to take the ‘vital’ role of shaping the parish.

Congresbury Parish Council is calling on villagers to fill its vacancies and ‘influence the future of the area’.

The authority, which is instrumental in coordinating village events and influential in the planning process, is short of three councillors and wants more residents to assist in leading the village.

A parish council spokesman said: “The parish council plays a vital role in Congresbury, working towards keeping the parish an attractive place to live and influencing the future of the area.

“Being a parish councillor will not take up too much of your time and is something that can give you a sense of achievement.”
