A TEENAGER who stabbed a man in the neck during an argument outside a Weston nightclub has been jailed.
Barman Sam Walters, aged 18, launched the attack on Sam Fisher as the pair stood outside Players Sports Club in the Boulevard last October.
Mr Fisher, aged 19, suffered a serious wound to his neck and could have died if it had not been for a friend who stemmed the blood flow.
Walters, who lives in Palmer Street, was sentenced to 21 months in prison at Bristol Crown Court on Monday.
The incident happened when Walters, who was working behind the bar on a trial basis, walked outside the establishment in dispute with Mr Fisher.
The altercation led to Walters stabbing Mr Fisher in the neck.
A friend and paramedics stemmed the significant flow of blood from the wound at the scene before the victim was taken to Weston General Hospital.
He was then transferred to Bristol Royal Infirmary before later being discharged.
