THIS year’s Somerset Young Farmers Club county show will feature its own, unique twist on the Olympics.
The event, which will be held on Saturday in Langford, has been dubbed the moolympics and will feature a range of games, crafts and stalls – as well as cow polo.
The event will start at 10am at Stepstones Farm off Half Yard, and will see young farmers from across Somerset competing in a range of competitions from traditional skills, handicrafts, tug o’war competitions and fun classes.
There will also be calf and sheep showing, stock judging, almost 3,000 handicraft exhibits and competitions ranging from lawnmower racing to group dancing.
And to continue the Olympic theme, this year’s event will also feature for the first time ever the on-land boat race, and cow polo, while there will also be a range of locally-sourced food and ales and ciders on offer.
Entry to the event is £1.
