Police have launched an appeal after a bus driver was attacked through an open window while working in Weston-super-Mare.

The victim was driving Crosville’s N3 bus on the Bournville estate at about 11pm on Saturday when the assault took place in St Andrew’s Parade.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary is now appealing for anyone who saw what happened to get in touch.

A police spokesman said: “The victim was punched by someone outside the bus through an open window.

“The suspect was part of a group who made off towards the roundabout on Winterstoke Road.

“We are keen to hear from anyone who might have seen the incident.”
