A quilting group has raised almost £1,700 for a cancer charity during a auction and fair.

The Draycott Quilters has raised £1,690 for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

The group exhibited more than 40 quilts.

Visitors to the event were able to learn about the art of quilt making, enjoy a slice of homemade cake and buy handmade Christmas gifts and decorations.

Group member Helen Greenwood said: “We would like to thank all the people who kindly attended our exhibition and hope that they enjoy it.

“The feedback from visitors was excellent.”

The group is also holding a charity quilt action to raise more money for the charity to better its total.

The double-sided throw has been made from batik fabrics and is just over 60 inches long.

The highest bid at the time of publication was £160 but offers are still welcome.

The auction will close at 5pm on December 6.
