A DRIVER was punched in the face last week following an altercation in Brent Knoll, leaving police appealing for witnesses.

Two vehicles were involved in the incident on the northbound A38, close to the A370 roundabout, at around 6pm on June 3.

Investigating officer PC Phill Perkins said: “The victim was driving northbound on the A38 when a Peugeot van stopped in front of him. The driver of the van approached his car, and following a brief altercation the victim was punched in the face.

“Traffic was brought to a standstill while this was going on, so there will be people who saw what happened. I would urge anyone with information to contact us as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information can reach the police by dialling 101.
