CRIMES committed at Weston General Hospital have dropped over the past 12 months.
Avon and Somerset Constabulary dealt with a 19 incidents last year ranging from burglary, drug offences and violence against people.
But the number of crimes committed has dropped considerably in recent years, compared with 32 in 2009 and 30 in 2010.
A Weston Area Health Trust spokesman said it was happy to see the figures fall.
She said: “In the past two years we have increased security presence on site at the hospital and work closely with our police support officer to proactively manage security issues to support the safety of our staff and patients.”
The statistics mirror those of other hospitals in the South West with crime falling across the district. The force dealt with 535 crimes in 2009 but only 281 last year.
