East Huntspill homes plan up for debate

PUBLISHED: 18:00 21 February 2018

Plans to build more than 40 new homes in East Huntspill will be discussed by the parish council next week.

Notaro New Homes has applied to Sedgemoor District Council for outline planning permission to build 45 homes in Church Road.

The developer also wants to create allotments, a dog exercise area and pedestrian crossing to provide safe access from All Saints Church to the village hall.

Plans include provision of 18 affordable homes and 27 available on the open market.

The Church Road plans are not the only potential development earmarked for the village.

Core Strategic Land is also hoping to secure outline planning permission with a view to building 40 homes on land off nearby New Road.

The public consultation period for the application will expire on March 9.

The meeting will be held at the church hall in Church Lane at 7pm on Monday when a representative from Notaro New Homes will be speaking.
