Medal haul for Burrington pupils

A village school is celebrating sporting success after pupils picked up a host of medals.

Pupils from Burrington Primary School competed against 374 children in the North Somerset Schools level two cross country event at Hutton Moor in Weston and the year six girls won the team bronze medal.

Harriet Brown finished sixth and Grace Hurst crossed the line in eighth position.

In the year six boys’ contest, Herbie Cooksley finished 10th and Harriet, Grace and Herbie have now all been invited to participate in the inter-area primary cross country competition in Bristol after they all achieved top 10 positions.

In the year four races, Maddock Jackson-Brown and Tilly Fitton-White both received bronze medals.

To round off the achievements, Burrington Primary School was awarded the School Games’ gold award for 2016/2017.
