Cake competition at family fun afternoon in the sun

Bakers entered their cakes into a competition during a family fun day.

St Nicholas Preschool in Uphill hosted the event, which gave families the chance to play games such as hook-a-duck and the coconut shy.

Lizzie Jones won the Great Uphill Bake Off competition.

The event raised £500 for improvements to the preschool’s outdoor playground area.

Children had their faces painted while they enjoyed the sunny afternoon.

There were also sweets and refreshments on offer at the church hall in Old Church Road.

Visitors went away with toys and books from the various stalls.
