THE manager of a Weston charity paid a visit to a school in the town to help with a reading exercise.

Geoff Stevens, community manager of the recently-founded Sport Active Seagulls Community Trust, visited Windwhistle Primary School on Thursday. The school has been inviting local figures in to talk about the importance of reading, and Mr Stevens gave a football-influenced talk to the school’s year five pupils.

The charity, based at Weston Football Club’s Woodspring Stadium, was set up to promote healthy living and sporting activities in the community.

It currently runs a youth club at the club’s ground in Winterstoke Road.
