THOUSANDS of pounds were raised at a race night to buy new school computers.

Ashbroooke House School’s parent and teacher association (PTA) collected £2,800 from the event at Batch Country House in Lympsham.

It was run by Weston Lions Club, and the money will also be used to buy an interactive white board.

More than 145 parents and family members attended, and a separate event was held for the 50 children.

PTA treasurer Lucy Johannsen said: “We are delighted with the amount raised on the night and this will help us to buy equipment which will make a real difference to the IT support available at Ashbrooke House.”
