CHILDREN from across Weston have been praised for their creative storytelling.

A collaboration between Worle Community School and some of Weston’s primary schools gave students the chance to enter a space-themed story competition.

Pupils from St Martin’s, Milton Park and Kewstoke primary schools took part and parents, teachers and the winning students attended an award ceremony at the secondary school.

In the year six category Maisie Merrick won first prize, Kade Livingstone came second and Daisy Dennett was given third place.

In the year five group Charlotte Thorpe came first and Joel Frost and Willow Hudson came joint second.
