Saturdads will close tomorrow

A SATURDAY morning group set up to offer fun activities for dads and their children is closing due to lack of interest.

Saturdads was run at Barcode Youth Café by staff from Weston Central Children’s Centre, and had been staged twice-monthly since the New Year.

However, dwindling visitor numbers had placed the group under threat, and staff have now reluctantly called a halt to the activities.

Spokesman Judy Bebb said in a letter to attendees: “Unfortunately, due to the small numbers that are attending, we are having to close this group.”

Former Saturdads supporters are advised to instead go to Ashcombe Children’s Centre, which runs activities for dads and youngsters from 10am until noon on the first Saturday of every month.

Barcode will host its final Saturdads meeting from 10am until noon tomorrow (Saturday).
