A sweet treat was enjoyed by the headteacher and leadership team of a Cheddar school.

The Kings Of Wessex Academy headteacher Gavin Ball was invited to a presentation of the design technology week’s cake topper design competition.

As part of the week, year 10 food technology students had the chance to design a cake topper on the theme Kings.

Victoria Alexander was the winner with her design of the Kings’ crown which was brought to life in icing.

Mr Ball enjoyed some victoria sponge cake with the winner and the two runners-up Amy Graham-Brown and Poppy Landers.

All three were presented with a Headteacher’s Commendation.

Mr Ball said: “Well done Victoria for your winning cake topper design which was fun and imaginative using the Kings’ logo.”

Mr Ball said he is hoping it might become a tradition to run lots of competition where the prize is cake.
