SINGING and recycling may not seem like an obvious combination, but that was the theme of a workshop for schoolchildren.

Children from years three and four at Windwhistle Primary School took part in a Raise The Roof singing workshop with other schools in Weston.

The event was organised by North Somerset School’s Music Service and this year’s theme was recycling.

The youngsters were also challenged to make an instrument and an outfit of recycled materials. The children made ring-pull necklaces and clothes out of plastic bags, and had a go at composing music using instruments they made.
