A SCHOOL had reason to celebrate this week after a Weston pub raised more than £1,000 to fund its new music room.
Scally’s in Carlton Street put on a fundraising gig night for Ashcombe Primary School with live bands.
Landlady Dawn Coupe organised the night at the pub after a parent got in touch with her about the need for new school facilities.
A total of £1,114 was raised for the cause.
A school spokesman said: “The children are thrilled because they play in a very cold makeshift room at the moment.”
