The National Junior Maths Challenge made its way to King Alfred School, in Highbridge, and three students managed to gain a coveted gold certificate.
This competition is notoriously difficult and requires the children, who are in year seven and eight, to answer 25 multiple choice questions in one hour. The challenge is undertaken in normal exam conditions.
A fantastic 46 students took home a bronze or silver certificate, and Georgina Mann, Callum Hook-Hole and Olivia Earthy took home gold.
A spokesman for the school said: “A massive congratulations to all the students. This is a very important result and is widely recognised by universities.”
