Embracing reading during childhood can help create a lifelong love of reading – and one Weston school has been embracing the idea during National Story Week.

Windwhistle Primary School’s library has been inviting children to take centre stage during activities by reading favourite stories aloud to their classmates.

Library assistant Justine Thorne said: “There was no shortage of children who wanted to read a story and most days there were more children than time permitted.

“On more than one occasion children asked if this could be a regular activity in the library as they enjoyed themselves so much.”
