Children in a North Somerset village took the spirit of the wild into school with them as they enjoyed a jungle-themed lunch.

Pupils at Wrington Primary School, which is located in School Road, enjoyed the lunch in the school hall on January 21.

They were served up Bear Grylls hot dogs or python pinwheel snacks with either curly fries, baboon baked beans or monkey tree broccoli, before enjoying a fruit salad or cheetah chocolate chip muffin for dessert.

A spokesman for the school said: “We enjoyed a special jungle lunch and our school hall was filled with lions, tigers, elephants, giraffes and cheetahs – and lots of smiling children.”
