Sidcot School launched the summer festival season with the very first Sidfest, hosted at its recently created yurt village.

The event brought ‘Glastonbury vibes’ to the revellers’ sunny afternoon.

A stage was put up for the Winscombe school’s pupils to perform live music for visitors, with a chill-out tent also provided for ultimate relaxation.

Pupils could also get henna tattoos, make daisy head-dresses and watch displays of aerial silk gymnastics.

Headteacher Iain Kilpatrick said: “Sidcot is a school with a commitment to providing a learning environment with challenge and stretch, as well as opportunities to unwind and relax.

“I was really excited to hear that the students wanted to use this event help raise money for our school charities and hope this will become a regular event on the festival calendar.”
