A Worle primary school raised more than £1,000 by holding a Christmas fair.

St Martin’s Primary School, in Spring Hill, collected £1,371 by hosting stalls and games.

A school spokesman said: “Mr Marriott, our headteacher, thanked the fundraising committee, parents, governors and staff who worked so hard preparing and running the Christmas fair.”

The school organised a number of festive events, including a carol concert at Wick St Lawrence Church and Puxton Park.

The Wick St Lawrence service was held as part of the angel festival.

The spokesman said: “The audience thoroughly enjoyed their singing.

“The children enjoyed their drink and biscuits afterwards and were thrilled with their gifts of chocolates and an angel Christmas decoration.”

A large number of families also went along to support the children singing at Puxton Park.
