Budding politicians at a village primary school were visited by North Somerset’s MP Dr Liam Fox.

Dr Fox visited pupils at Wrington Primary School on Friday and was treated to a tour of the school grounds, in School Road, by headteacher Sarah Joskey.

He visited the school after it received an outstanding rating from education watchdog Ofsted last year.

A school spokesman told the Mercury: “Dr Fox visited on Friday and enjoyed a tour of our school with our headteacher.

“He then joined the whole school for our celebration service in the school hall.

“Finally, he joined the children at the headteacher’s tea party, which is held once a month. Homemade cakes and squash were enjoyed by all.”
