GUNGE and gardening were two of the highlights at one school’s summer fete at the weekend.
Locking Primary School held its annual fete on Friday.
The school’s deputy headteacher Sam Gilman said: “It was pupil run so they organised it all which was fantastic.
“It took quite a lot of forward planning.
“Every class had a stall to run so they all collected different items for each stall.”
But for year five teacher Catherine Reeve the event was a little messy, as she got covered in gunge by her eager students.
Mrs Gilman said: “One highlight this year was our year five teacher getting gunged by the students.
“She volunteered to do it and she said she really enjoyed it.”
The school’s gardening club has been busy growing plants throughout the year and sold its home-grown goods at the fete.
There were also all the traditional games including a tombola, face-painting, a coconut shy and more.
