A community preschool has paid tribute to the ‘hard work’ of its staff and parents after receiving an outstanding rating from education watchdog Ofsted.

Stepping Stones Community Preschool, in Claverham, was graded as outstanding in all four of Ofsted’s assessment areas after an inspector visited the nursery in Bishops Road. The preschool had also been graded as outstanding when Ofsted last visited the site in 2012.

The report said staff at Stepping Stones, which is set in the grounds of Court de Wyck Primary School, forged exceptional partnerships with parents, provided excellent support to children and planned an exciting and stimulating range of classroom activities.

Stepping Stones’ play leader Andrea Johns said: “We are extremely pleased to have been able to maintain our outstanding status.

“It truly reflects the hard work and dedication the staff and parents put into the group in order to provide quality care and education for our children.”
