An insect hotel and forest school zone have been built at a Milton school.

The Voyage Learning Campus, in Milton Green, has introduced the areas outside to provide a habitat for insects and give children a place to learn about the environment and get muddy.

Garden business Somerlap Forest Products, based in Mark, donated the wood pallets, bark and stakes and provided other equipment at a discounted rate.

Managing director, Kevin Bond, visited the school to see the finished projects.

He said: “Voyage Learning Campus is a vital resource for children who have difficulty with mainstream education, and Somerlap was delighted to help them with the items they needed for their projects.”

Assistant vice principal Alyson Mitchard added: “Their knowledge has enabled us to provide a wonderful outdoor area and the sessions are already proving to be extremely valuable to our students.”
