A Weston-based author will talk about his new novel at a North Somerset library this weekend.

Justin Newland will take part in a conversation with Frome poet B Anne Adriaens at Worle Library, in Mendip Avenue.

He has released a new book called The Genes Of Isis, which is set in Ancient Egypt.

The novel draws on the myth of the Egyptian gods and goddesses Isis and Osiris, and the story of the flood in the Book of Genesis.

Justin says he likes looking at things with a different or new perspective and aims to write historical fiction with a supernatural twist.

Justin is no stranger to giving talks about his books, as he also took part in the Weston Literary Festival earlier this year.

The talk will take place on Saturday at 11am.

Tickets are free, but need to be booked online at or from the library.
