Youngsters of Worlebury Primary School have published their own book dedicated to seals.

Year two pupils from the school, in Woodspring Avenue, have worked on a project titled Where In The World Are Seals? during the past two terms.

They held a promotional event at Weston’s Waterstones bookshop, in the Sovereign Shopping Centre, to showcase their findings.

The children were inspired by the work of Sir David Attenborough and his role in helping wildlife globally.

The class wrote stories and non-chronological reports about seals on Skomer Island, Wales and all proceeds from the book have been used to adopt a seal from the wildlife sanctuary.

Year two teacher, Truon Ellis, said: “The whole class worked incredibly hard on this project and they were all really pleased with the final product.

“It has been great to see the children so engaged with saving our oceans.”
