WINSCOMBE and Sandford’s youth council could fold after only a few months due to a lack of interest.
Speaking at Monday’s meeting of Winscombe and Sandford Parish Council, councillor and chairman Steve Bridges said no village youngsters had turned up to two of four meetings since its formation in March.
He said only one other committee member had been present at the meetings other than himself, and he said he would have to consider the organisation’s future in the face of indifference from teenagers in the villages.
He said: “We are having another meeting and will see what happens.
“If nobody turns up or it’s very badly supported then we might have to call it a day, but we’ll see at the meeting.”
