A PORTISHEAD businesswoman has been given some sound business advice by TV star Sir Alan Sugar.

Cheryl Rowlands has said she will use advice given to her by the Government's Enterprise Champion to help her develop a theatrical agency business in 2010.

Cheryl, who runs a drama school and theatrical agency in the town, was one of a select group of South West business owners invited to an audience with Sir Alan Sugar in Bristol last month.

The event, organised by business support agency Business Link and the South West Regional Development Agency, involved a question and answer forum during which Lord Sugar talked to entrepreneurs about the current issues and challenges they are facing.

Mrs Rowlands said: "I was very pleased to be asked to take part in the event.

"I came away with some fresh ideas and will be putting them in to practice to grow the agency this year."

Lord Sugar's visit was part of a series of business events taking place across the country.
