Families got creative at a messy church event in Milton as they decorated cakes and painted pictures on the theme of bonfire night.

The event was held at Milton Methodist Church, in Milton Hill, Weston-super-Mare.

Children put their art skills to the test by creating firework paint pictures and decorating cakes to look like bonfires.

The families also designed their own sandals and played a number of games before enjoying a party tea with their families and friends.

Children also learned about Moses and the burning bush, to fit in with the bonfire theme.

The next messy
church event will be held on December 2 from 4-6pm.

Families are welcome to go along for free craft activities, games, stories and songs and food.

Messy church events enable families to spend time together while enjoying a wide range of activities and games.
