As summer draws to a close it is time to celebrate autumn in all its glory and what better way to do that than with apple-pressing. Here are some things to do in Weston and the surrounding villages this weekend.

Apple day in Worle

– Apple-pressing, competitions and crafts will be available during an apple day at the Big Worle Hub, in Clovelly Road.

There will also be an apple pie competition and the event will run from 11am-3pm on Saturday.

Circus fun in Weston

– Circus acts, a colour-in caravan, strollercoaster and a sparkly ice cream van with a DJ will be at the Italian Gardens on Saturday.

The area will be overrun by stilt-walkers, balloon modellers, face-painters and entertainers galore will be at the event, which runs from noon to 7pm.

The family event will be free so get your brains in gear and take part in a quiz night at the 49 Club in Baker Street.

Fish and chips and quiz in Weston

– Sit down for a fish and chip supper before putting your knowledge to the test in aid of the Birnbeck Regeneration Trust, which is working to save the crumbling pier.

The quiz will start at 7pm on Saturday. Call Rose on 07957 807008 to book.

Movie night in Weston

– Why not head to Weston’s Odeon cinema, in The Centre, and catch the latest box office hit.

This Sunday you can catch the World War Two drama Dunkirk, the new thriller It, hilarious comedy Kingsman: The Golden Circle or the dramatic tale of Victoria & Abdul.

Visit the Odeon website for more show times and ticket prices.

Planning to take any photos during the weekend? Why not upload them our iWitness website and they could appear in the paper.
